Every year we are inundated with visitors. Some are students and many are
either foreign students or veterinarians.
Its even hard to keep up with their names but fortunately Libby our practice
manager keeps a log so later we can review them. Each year one seems to call
back and say that they would like to do an internship.
Here at left is
a group of foreign veterinary students.
From the left:
Rasmus Jensen (Denmark), Annette Roug (Denmark),
Ernie Martinez (Oklahoma, USA), Kim Grueber
(Purdue, USA), Heidi Maentausta (Finland).
A good example of a group that came together at the GVEH for varying times
during the breeding season. Obviously if you want to come and visit you need to
book (e mail us).
Immediate past nurses:

Krystle Mills came to us on work experience and
we asked her to stay. Krystle
is a great advertisement for Wangaratta school of Tafe. She is smart, dedicated
and lots of fun to be around. Krystle has recently been in Ireland as winner of
the scholarship to
the Irish National Stud course. She started in February and returned to us for
the last two breeding seasons. Krystle excels and foal critical care and
has a serious interest in neonatal care. Krystle has just left again and this
time she has gone to Rob Franklin's practice in Florida to train and see some of
the world. We have left her on the site for the time being as we hope she will
be back with for the next foaling season.
Sherrie
Roberston is our youngest veterinary nurse who right now probably wonders if
she has made the right choice for her career. You can see by her smile that she
hasn't worked more than one breeding season yet. Sherrie goes about her
everyday work with the same smile and good attitude that make her fun to work
with. Keep it up Sherrie.
Honie
Tuena: Honie grew up in Shepparton and attended horse studies at Charles Sturt at
Wagga Wagga. We are working her as hard as we can while she continues with her
distance education. She is a great veterinary nurse that works hard and haves
fun while keeping us in line and gets on with the serious business of keeping
the surgery going.
Cathryn
Cosson came to us from Glenrowan and everyday we
think how lucky we are to have her with our team. She is efficient, hard
working, honest and full of that youthful enthusiasm that we all so much to
have. Catherine's main interests
outside the hospital are mostly unknown to this web master but we will find out,
so keep watching this space. Cathryn graduated from Wangaratta Tafe course and
is an excellent example of how well these course can prepare an aspiring person
for a career with horses. Currently Cathyrn is travelling around Australia and
we hope she comes back to work for us soon.
