Visitors: Clinical Placements, Work Experience, Visiting veterinarians

Every year we have a large number of requests to place veterinary students (from Australian and overseas universities) and veterinarians (from Australia and overseas) who wish to visit Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital.  The hospital makes a point of welcoming visitors and tries very hard to make their visit a positive experience for all concerned. This is one way that Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital  can give back to the community, and especially to the veterinary and equine communities.

Many of the visitors contact the hospital afterwards to apply for a position on the staff.

altHere at left is a group of foreign veterinary students who all visited in October 2002; this group is a good example of the type of visitors who apply to come each breeding season.

Visitors neeed to apply for a place well ahead of their intended visiting date, as the hospital is usually booked out 12 months ahead.  There is some accommodation available on site for visitors, at a small cost. Intending visitors will need to complete paperwork by contacting the practice manager by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Overseas visitors must be attending under the umbrella of their home country university or veterinary practice or have the necessary personal insurance cover, in case of injury while on placement at GVEH. Due to the number of overseas visitors requesting places, we can now only offer a 2 week placement.
