First of all the really important staff (the ones that make the hospital run): They can all be contacted by e mail or phone (0358 299 566) or Fax (0358 299307)

Front Office:

Reception:

Joanna Cousins- Jo came from Korrumburra, in Gippsland. She has had much experience in people management as previously she worked in the banking sector in Shepparton. Jo has two daughters which keep her on her toes. She has just the personality for the job with a genuine like of people, a good laugh and an outgoing friendly nature.
Bit by bit she will get us all organised I reckon.

Kate Davis: How lucky are we. The nicest and most un-flappable girl. She grew up in Upper Beaconsfield, moved to NZ then back to Lang Lang for more milking (sore hands I reckon). Then after meeting the famous Nick at a Dookie B&S she moved to Shepparton which was our good fortune.  Kate and Nick were married in 2006. Congratulations to them both. It is harder and harder for us to see Kate now as they have started a family. We are looking forward to when she can spend more time with us.

Accounting:

Naomi Harrington: Naomi is a local gal from Congupna and was studying Biological Science at University before hearing about the reception job at the hospital. Nomes is her nickname (not Gnomes).  Nomes loves going to the gym and spending time with her crazy rabbit and 2 Labradors.  She also loves to travel and to try to keep us in line. When nomes says jump the only question is how high!!

Andrea Goodin- Andrea was born in Wairarapa, New Zealand and is married to a dairy farmer who decided to try dairying in Oz (which was lucky for us). She has two children and heaps of financial experience having previously worked in the banking sector. Andrea also worked in a veterinary clinics in NZ. Andrea also rides horses in her spare time and seems to have settled in well to a somewhat unfamiliar job.Andrea loves to have a laugh with anyone that can understand her jokes!!!

We are so lucky to have the best nurses money (well not much of it) can buy.Fw Fwd enjoy your life.gif
The nurses were headed by Rebecca O'Callaghan (formerly Barry) who is our longest serving employee and who recently moved to accounting as she prepares for a family. Beck has a sideline business in preparing and competing on those horses that are worth more when they appear spotted ($5000 with them and $500 without them). Beck also has a complex at her home where we can send horses that are not quite right to go to their owners if they live along way from us.

Gary Hopkins: Born and bred in Melbourne, Gary moved to Shepparton in 1986 to work as a supply manager at GV Base hospital. After working there for 25 years we were lucky enough to have Gary come on board with us as our purchasing officer in August 2006.  Gary has done a superb job sourcing new and fantastic products at the best possible price for us. Gary is a keen fisherman and can tell a tale or two about fishing trips away with “the boys”.

Suanne Vale: Born and bred in Perth WA , Suanne moved to VIC 12 years ago to ride for Jan Langley (Langtreee Stud) Suanne is a well known show rider who has produced and shown successfully some of the top show horses and ponies in the country.  Suanne started with us September 2006 to pay our huge pile of accounts!! We love having Suanne around the place with her terrific sense of humour which adds to the happy ambience of the office. Suanne also enjoys snow skiing and makes as many trips to the ski fields as time permits.

Manager:
The hospital manager is Libby Vasey (Jim's wife). Libby has made a huge difference to the running of the hospital since she started. None of us had ever heard of job descriptions before, let alone regular meetings and staff appraisals. In her previous role as a teacher at the Goulburn Valley Grammar School just down the road from us, she was able to develop the skills needed to manage such a wayward and recalcitrant lot that we are. The job of hospital manger is diverse and difficult and she dose it well.

Reproduction

Manager: Leann Newton:
Leann is South African by birth and together with her husband Craig, and children Kyle, Kirsty and Kallie, emigrated here in 2003. She managed Blue Gum Farm before coming to work for us. She is good with horses and people. She has great organisational skills and was just what we were looking for. She can be contacted by e mail or phone on 0427299568 for any reproduction related enquiries.

Tahnee Griffiths: Tahnee started working for us in July 2010 but we knew her well from Blue Gum days where she worked for 5 years. A good horse person who genuinely loves and cares for horses she is in charge of client horse management. It will be fun to watch her develop in our environment. Leann is like a surrogate mum to her but don't be mistaken she is talented, direct and capable of leading our team.

Rhiannon Nichols: Rhi came straight from school and immediately set the bar for work ethic. She has boundless enthusiasm and after completing one job goes is looking for the next. Rhi is doing a part time Equine Nursing course and loves it. She drives racing cars and works horses in her spare time (not that we give her much). One of Rhi's main jobs is to look after the recipient mares (which is probably why the pregnancy rates are so good).

Annastasia Eddie-Anna is studying for qualifications in vet nursing. She lives in Cobram and commutes for work. She loves the job and smiles all the time while washing AV's and the stallions. A pleasure to work with she is. She is also another one that loves horses and spends most her spare time riding.

Stables:
Keeping the stables clean and neat is an important job for us. As most people are horse owners that visit the hospital they have a good knowledge of how stables should be maintained and thus are rightly demanding that their horses are well looked after. Jennie Stanton has been with us the longest. Jennie lives in Invergordon where she is raising two teenage boys. Like most of or staff she loves horses and rides regularly. On shift with Jen is Sharron Forrester who is another long term employee who shows great dedication and devotion to the horses she cares for. We are really lucky with the people we have.

Also helping her is Jodi Collins. Jodi is quite a character. Smiles all the time and nothing is to much trouble. Jodi rides and seems to love life in general.

Sean Waites- Sean has worked previously in the horse industry. He has been a great addition to the afternoon stable staff. There is nothing that is to much trouble for Sean. He is there to help. We all feel confidant when he is around.

Barn and Farm crew:

The farm staff are led by Russell Smith who is well supported by Russell Batey. They ably keep the pastures and hospital confines in great shape (not an easy job seeing how we load the horses on and never seem to pick up after ourselves). They build fences, put up stalls and are always as cheery as. In addition to the two Russell's we have Allan Currie (on right) as the head maintenance man. No job is to hard for Allan. He seems to to be ale to do everything.

Would you trust these two?
